The Conservation Committee serves to advocate for the sustained natural beauty and access to our hiking areas. The committee will:

- Inform Club members of issues that may affect the hiking experience in the Club’s day-hiking area.
- Encourage Club members to voice their opinions on important issues identified by the Committee.
- Publicly advocate accepted Club positions on key issues when approved by the CMC Council.
The CMC from time-to-time takes positions on issues related to forest conservation. See these at CMC Positions, Letters and Comments
We also collaborate with other conservation-minded organizations of issues of mutual interest. Check them out at Conservation Partners
The committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 2:15 P.M. at the Botanical Gardens next to UNCA in Asheville. If you would like to join our committee, please contact us at ruthmtn@gmail.com
